Digital skills & innovation: How do we shape collaborative learning?

May 21th // 11:00 - 12:00

digital.DTHG is a field of competence of the DTHG (German Theatre Technical Association), investigating the potentials of digital technologies for theatre and develop basic model solutions in several research projects.

A lot of topics have been explored already such as stage and set design in virtual space,  “Im/material Theatre Spaces – Augmented and Virtual Reality for Theatre” , Virtual theater architectures and co-creative performance spaces, Spatial narratives in virtual reality, etc.

Immersive media is not just a tool; it’s a pathway to keeping stories alive, audiences engaged, and communities connected. Immersive media is transforming the ways in which people experience not only theatre but more generally media and content. These technologies are revolutionizing various sectors in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs), such as film and television, cultural heritage, gaming, book publishing, etc., particularly for producing content that enhances viewer engagement and emotional connection through digital storytelling and immersive worlds. In addition, innovation like AI is pushing the boundaries of Immersive media, making it more interactive, adaptive, and personalized. This synergy opens up new possibilities and markets for entertainment, education, training, and beyond.

How can the players in the CCIs meet financial and skill-related challenges in adopting immersive technologies ? How to nurture the skills to support them to keep up pace? This concerns creative as well as business and technology skills needed to launch a successful venture.

The round table will explore how the cultural ecosystem can support a rich Skills development for sustainable innovation and try to define a Call for Action.
