From vision to implementation: The Theatre Green Book and its impact

May 21th // 15:00 - 16:00

The Theatre Green Book started as a collective initiative by theatre-makers in the UK and has since expanded to include theatre-makers worldwide. It provides a shared language, actions, and standards to help theatre transition toward sustainability.

Recognizing that theatre communities face unique challenges, the Theatre Green Book functions as a flexible "network of networks," allowing different nations to adapt the guidance while maintaining core principles. It is a free resource available to all theatre-makers, regardless of scale.

Emma Wilson, Director of Technical, Production, and Costume for the UK’s Royal Ballet and Opera, will give a general introduction to the Theatre Green Book. With a PhD in environmental politics, she has worked extensively across Europe and is involved in advisory bodies promoting sustainability, workplace safety, diversity, and opportunities for young people in the industry.
